Words and Actions

…those who preached the Good News to you… 1 Peter 1:12

When did you first learn about Jesus? Was he simply part of the air you breathed as a child in a family that went to Mass, prayed together and sent you to parochial school? If so, who were the priests, religious and lay teachers that nurtured your budding faith?

Perhaps you didn’t come to know the Lord until later in your life through a campus minister, good friend or your spouse who uncovered the portal to faith and invited you to enter. Maybe it was someone quietly living their faith, someone you observed from afar, that attracted you to the life of a believer.

The Gospel is meant to be shared, to be communicated by words and actions, by examples of faithful lives. Every day as a Christian, you are preaching to Good News to the world. You are the Word of God made manifest! Let’s all work on our communication skills!

O Lord, that today my words and actions might be yours!
