Jesus Came for Me
This is the one who came through water and Blood, Jesus Christ…. 1 John 5:6
My late sister found Christ’s peace in an Adoration chapel – the artist in her drawn to a life-sized mural of Jesus as the Divine Mercy. there, in the fullness of God’s presence – struck by the image of water and Blood flowing from Jesus’ Sacred Heart – my sister felt our Lord’s mercy like nowhere else. When she shared this space with me, her joy overflowed. Here was the Jesus she sought. Jesus’ mercy and healing give the leper new life. both my sister and the leper, amidst their struggles, truly sought Jesus. Have I – amid mine?
This precious Christ Child, whom I now joyfully celebrate in Christmastide, is the very one who washes me – and us all – in the water and Blood of his mercy.
Lord, may I always remember the precious gift of your water and Blood you poured out for me.
